Social Work Transfer

Maddie Galloway on Social Work Transfer

If you want to make a difference in the lives of your community, the Social Work Transfer program may be the right fit for you. Social work is a profession dedicated to helping individuals function to the best of their ability and better understand their life situations.

Washington State offers a two-year baccalaureate preparation track designed to provide the foundational skills needed to successfully transfer into a social work baccalaureate program at an accredited institution.

While enrolled, students learn to support individuals, groups, families, organizations, and communities in enhancing or restoring social functioning and creating conditions that support positive outcomes. Coursework also focuses on building professional relationships, understanding social environments, making informed choices, and advocating through organization and community engagement.

This two-year program results in an Associate of Arts Transfer Degree in Social Services. Graduates may begin working in the field upon completion; however, the program is specifically designed for students planning to transfer into a baccalaureate program.
