Automotive Technician Certificate
What Is the Automotive Technician Certificate Program?
This one-year certificate program prepares students for entry-level work in the automotive repair field. You’ll gain hands-on experience using both conventional tools and modern diagnostic equipment, including computerized engine analyzers. The curriculum is designed to help you develop the core skills needed by today’s automotive technicians, from inspection and maintenance to diagnostics and repair.
Where Will You Train?
Your training will take place in WSCO’s large automotive lab, equipped with professional-grade tools and state-of-the-art diagnostic systems. This environment mirrors what you’ll find in modern repair shops, giving you the confidence to walk into the workforce ready for success.
We also establish program partnerships with local businesses, like McClinton Chevrolet and Goodyear Tire and Auto, to provide real-world experience and potential job opportunities when you graduate.
Your Certificate gives you a Clear Pathway to an Associate Degree
The Automotive Technician Certificate is the first year of the full Automotive Service Technology associate degree. That means your credits count directly toward your associate degree if you decide to continue. It’s a flexible, stackable path that lets you earn credentials and gain employment while keeping the door open for further education.
Is the Program Accredited?
The Automotive Service Technology associate degree program, which this certificate feeds into, is fully accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). This accreditation ensures that your training meets national standards and prepares you for success in the field.
