Become a Diesel Tech in Just One Year

If you’re interested in Diesel Truck Systems but want to get into the workforce faster, the Diesel Truck Maintenance One-Year Certificate is the perfect option. This program gives you the core skills you need to start as an entry-level diesel technician in industries like transportation, marine, rail, and fleet operations.

The need for skilled diesel techs keeps growing, and employers are looking for people who can think on their feet, troubleshoot effectively, and hit the ground running. This certificate equips you with the hands-on experience and know-how to do exactly that.

What Is the Diesel Truck Maintenance Program Like?

From day one, you’ll be rolling up your sleeves in a high-energy, hands-on training environment. You’ll get to work on electrical systems, brakes, chassis components, drivetrain fundamentals, and diesel engines– all in a professional-grade shop. Safety, diagnostics, and real-world problem-solving are built into every project, so you’re not just learning how to use tools, you’re learning how to work like a true technician.

What Other Credentials Can I Earn?

You will have the opportunity to earn Engine Builders Association AERA certifications for Cylinder Head Machinist and Engine Machinist.

Is the Program Accredited?

Yes. WSCO’s Automotive Service Technology and Diesel Truck Systems associate degree programs are fully accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). While this one-year certificate isn’t separately accredited, it’s built on the same high standards, expert faculty, and employer-focused training that make our degree programs NATEF-approved.

Graduates can step into entry-level roles such as:
  • Diesel truck service
  • Fleet and bus maintenance
  • Marine and boat engine service
  • Rail and locomotive support
  • Heavy equipment service
  • Transportation industry support roles

Many students continue on to the Diesel Truck Systems associate degree to boost earning potential and open more career doors, but this certificate also stands strong on its own, getting you into the field fast.
