What Skills Will You Gain?

You’ll learn to diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines and related systems through a combination of classroom instruction and shop experience. Training includes:

  • Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
  • Brake systems and suspension
  • Electrical and electronic systems
  • Preventive maintenance and inspections
  • Measuring and precision tools
  • Service writing and customer communication
  • Adapting to new vehicle technologies

You’ll also explore essential business skills, including how computers are used in service and parts departments within repair facilities.

Where Will You Train?

Your training takes place in WSCO’s modern diesel lab, designed to mirror the real-world environment of a repair shop or fleet service center. You’ll work with real equipment, gain hands-on experience under the hood, and train using computerized diagnostic tools.

Is the Program Accredited?

The Diesel Truck Systems program is fully accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and prepares you for ASE certification exams. Students also qualify for a discount on Snap-On tools as they build their professional toolkit.
