WSCO Nursing Pathways

We offer multiple pathways to meet your career goals, whether you’re starting in practical nursing, advancing to registered nursing, or earning your BSN:

Practical Nursing (PN) – Prepare for immediate patient care roles and eligibility to take the NCLEX-PN.

Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) – Comprehensive training for registered nursing, including acute and long-term care practices. Eligible for the NCLEX-RN.

Advanced Placement: LPN to RN – For licensed practical nurses seeking to advance to registered nurse status.

Bridge: LPN to RN (Current WSCO PN Students Only) – A direct pathway for WSCO Practical Nursing graduates to transition to the RN track.

RN to BSN – Designed for registered nurses who want to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and expand career opportunities.

Each pathway offers flexible scheduling, hands-on clinical experience, and a career-focused curriculum tailored to employer needs.

RN to BSN

The RN to BSN program is designed to support the education and professional growth of registered nurses who hold a diploma or associate degree in nursing as they earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The curriculum emphasizes nursing leadership, community health, nursing research, collaborative healthcare, and healthcare policy, along with supporting coursework.

Baccalaureate-prepared nurses are associated with improved patient outcomes and expanded career opportunities. Upon completion of the program, graduates may choose to continue their education in graduate-level nursing programs, including a Master of Science in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing provides classroom and clinical experience to prepare graduates to become effective members of the healthcare team. Graduates of the Associate Degree Nursing program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

Registered nurses provide direct patient care, promote healthy lifestyles, and coordinate care across acute, long-term, and community healthcare settings. This program supports both immediate entry into the workforce and long-term career mobility.

The Advanced Placement Pathway for LPNs is designed for currently licensed practical nurses who want to earn their Associate Degree in Nursing. This pathway builds on prior nursing education and experience while providing the classroom and clinical training needed to transition into registered nursing roles.

Graduates of the Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. Registered nurses provide direct patient care, promote healthy lifestyles, and coordinate care across acute, long-term, and community healthcare settings.

The Associate Degree Nursing program offers strong educational and career mobility. Graduates may enter the workforce immediately or continue their education through baccalaureate or advanced practice nursing programs.

The Associate Degree Nursing Bridge for LPNs pathway is available only to students currently enrolled in the Practical Nursing Program. This bridge option allows PN students to continue seamlessly into the Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing.

The AAS in Nursing provides classroom and clinical experience that prepares graduates to become effective members of the healthcare team. Graduates of the Associate Degree Nursing program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

Practical nursing is an essential part of the healthcare system. Graduates of the Practical Nursing program at Washington State College of Ohio are prepared to function as responsible members of the healthcare team under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed physician.

Practical nurses work collaboratively with registered nurses and physicians to plan and deliver direct patient care in acute care, long-term care, and community healthcare settings.

The Certificate of Practical Nursing Education provides both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience designed to prepare graduates for professional nursing practice.

Graduates of the Practical Nursing program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing.
