Free College for Eligible Ohio Residents

Are you worried about how to finance your college education? At Washington State College of Ohio, we provide comprehensive financial support through federal financial aid, grants, and scholarships. Many eligible Ohio residents can combine these funding options and attend WSCO for free!

How Does Free College Work for Ohio Residents?

Where does the funding come from for free college?
Funding for your education at WSCO can come from multiple sources. Federal Grants, such as Pell and FSEOG, are determined by your FAFSA submission. Additionally, you may qualify for state grants and scholarships. These various funding sources can be combined to cover tuition and fees, potentially making your college education free.
While many grants are available exclusively for Ohio residents, thanks to Federal Grants, our in-state tuition rate for West Virginia residents, and a minimal out-of-state surcharge of just $1 per credit hour, many of WSCO’s non-Ohio residents can also take classes at little to no tuition cost. Step 1. Complete the admissions application for WSCO here.

Step 2. File your 2024/25 FAFSA at studentaid.gov and add our school code (010453).

Step 3. Fill out the “Free College Form” here.

Step 4. The WSCO Office of Financial Aid will reach out to you!
